Hello All! We have made it to La Paz. I would like to be able to say that it was hard, but we had a little help. Early on in the journey we realized our inability to carry enough water and food to last us in the long 3-5 day stretches it would take to cross the desert and mountains. Civilization in Baja can be sparse! Plus we were drinking 3 liters of water about every three hours! The sun is scorching hot and cactus shade is not very generous! For those reasons and the fact that somewhere in the beginning of the trip Greg strained his MCL, a ligament in his knee. We decided that for the sake of our well being it would be best to do the dangerous stretches by bus. So we biked and rode. For the record Baja by bus is much faster, and far less sweaty! We were ahead of schedule so we got to stop at a beautiful little beach call Playa Santispac where we went snorkeling and were marine predators feeding at night on a feast of scallops and clams caught by day. We also met three generous bachelors headed south, Kenny, Jimmy and Joel. They let us use their motorhome kitchen and shared there meals with us. Overall a heck of a goodtime with three perfect gentlemen! Then they gave us a ride over the mountains to La Paz. So here we are ready to join up with Juliana coming from Brazil. She will be meeting us on the 20th in Mazatlan. She was unable to get a visa to the U.S, so she is getting a late start. We are about to take on mainland Mexico so stay tuned because more exciting stories are sure to come!
