Well hello all!
We have been here in Mazatlan for 10 days now! Forced to wait for an important package that held bike parts, we managed to keep ouselves busy. We started off on the right foot by moving to a small Island just a stones throw from Mazatlan, The Island of Stones. We made our camp at the first restaurant on the beach, Restaurant Elvira's. She is a beautifully warm 64 year old who runs the small restaurant with the help of her children and granchildren. Her son Che took us fishing, her daughter Margarita helped us paint and her granchildren kept us company. Speaking of painting...We asked them if we could paint the front of their restaurant, and in exchange they let us stay for free! We painted it blue and then added some flair. Check out the pics!
We met some great Americans and Canadians and made tons of friends when we fed some of the stray beach dogs. We joked that our tent was an animal hospital because we had goiter, skinny and eye infection Jumbo always at our side. We saw a significant change in their health since we've been there. So, we've got our ties to this little Island. However, our package has arrived so we must be on our way. Goodbye Mazatlan hello open road!
Bleg

Keep it moving and grooving...way to go guys! Stay safe.
Peace & Love,
Melanie
